Unemployment among Rural Agricultural Households
Out of 460 million workers (UPSS), 94 million earn so little that they are below the poverty line. And if that is the lot of employed workers , the lot of the poor who are unemployed in the labour force must be worse, which is a cause of concern to the planning process.
Unemployment among the rural agriculture labour households, which is the single largest segment of poor labour households, is now 15.3%
It is possible to infer that the magnitude of poverty among them may have remained the same or even increased.
